Peter Rice - Sound Kitchen Co-Curator/Organiser
Peter Rice is a UK Based Sound Designer working in Performance, Music and Short Film. He is Course Leader for Sound Design & production at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, Chair of the Association of Sound Designers, Sound Associate for NYX Electronic Drone Choir, and a founding member of Stage Sight. He works as one half of the electronic music duo Skeleton W0man, and creates sound art under his own moniker of thesoundcollective. Peter produces the podcast Conversations with Sound Designers, available on Spotify and Apple Music now.

Robin Whitaker - Sound Kitchen Co-Curator/Organiser
Robin Whittaker, engineer and inventor with a passion for performance audio, formed Out Board Electronics in London in 1987. The company’s first commercial products were a patented motorised fader and the SS1 live sound moving fader automation system. The SS1 system was first used on the original West End production of Miss Saigon and afterwards on productions of Into the Woods and City of Angels amongst others

Brad Ward - OISTAT Sound Sub Commission Chair
Bradlee Ward is a Senior Associate at Apeiro Design/NYC based Sound Designer where he designs sound and video systems for the Immersive/Theatre/Performance Environments Apeiro designs. Projects include: Huntington Theatre, Chelsea Factory, Park Avenue Synagogue. Brad is also a freelance sound designer. Design credits include: Request Sa Radyo – Samsung Performing Arts Canter Manila, I Need That – Broadway, Bedlam’s King Lear, York Theatre’sPenelope. Associate design credits: Choir Boy, (Tony and Drama Desk Awards), Rose Tattoo,Bernhardt Hamlet. Previously, Brad was the Lead Audio System Tech for Cirque du Soleil’s The Beatles LOVE.

Hasan Hujairi - Sound Kitchen 25 / Selection Panel
Hasan Hujairi (b. 1982) is a Bahraini artist, composer, and writer. His work often explores the notion of the outsider, confronting (historiographic) superstructures, and the nature of constructing narratives within time. He holds a DMA (Doctor of Musical Arts) in music composition from Seoul National University (Seoul, South Korea), where he researched reorienting the narrative associated with the maverick composer tradition to be more inclusive of composers working outside the Western classical music tradition. He also holds a Masters of Economics from Hitotsubashi University (Tokyo, Japan) in economic history and regional economics, and wrote his thesis on the significance of conceiving the Gulf region in both its littorals within a Braudelian historiographic framework. As of January 2023, he joined the Sharjah Art Foundation as manager of the music department.

Josefina Cerda Puga - Sound Kitchen 25 / Selection Panel
Josefina Cerda Puga (30) is a teacher, producer, actress, sound designer, and archivist. She holds a Master’s degree in Art Theory and History from the University of Chile, along with diplomas in Sound Art and Archival Science from the same institution. Currently, she teaches university courses focused on interdisciplinarity in the arts and gender perspectives in the performing arts. She also works as a producer at the Cuerpo Sur Foundation and collaborates with the artistic collectives Complejo Conejo, Cómo se Recuerda un Crimen, Cuerpo Sur, Radioafectiva, and Teatro del Sonido.

Mengting Zhou - Sound Kitchen 25 / Selection Panel
Zhuo Mengting (b. Guangzhou, China, 1990) composes situations with site, sound, body and time, in the forms of performance, participatory installation, and concerts. Often minimalist, subtle and intimate, her work invites the audience to investigate themes of connection, transmission, contingency and distance.
Through a series of happenings predominantly using non-instruments, unwanted noise, found objects and the body, she has performed sonic scores for Tai Kwun Contemporary, Hong Kong, Shanghai PSA, China, MAO Torino, Italy, Frieze London, and Cafe OTO London, UK.
As a performance curator, she has facilitated interdisciplinary events such as the Para-Phrase series at Pushkin House and the Ruthin International Arts Festival. She is also the co-founder and host of 小明拆台 Ming Strike, a Chinese podcast on contemporary performing arts from the perspective of Asian diasporic artists.
